Michelangelo
Michelangelo is one of the most famous Renaissance artists. His works are widely known all across the world. He was born on March 6, 1475, near Florence, Italy, where he was later raised. When he was young, he was an apprentice to study grammar. However, he never really liked that, but rather enjoyed painting, which obviously paid off. He died on February 18, 1564.
Some of Michelangelo's most famous works include the Statue of David, the Last Judgement painting, the Sistine Chapel ceiling painting, and the "Pieta", which is a statue of Mary holding Jesus.
